About QLS Wellington
 

Hi! I'm Lauren. I developed Qualified Learning Support Wellington after seeing the growing need for personalised maths support in New Zealand.

 

I'm a fully qualified teacher with experience teaching across a range of schools in the Wellington Region.

With a strong background in teaching and private tutoring, I specialise in supporting students in mathematics, helping them build confidence and achieve measurable progress.

Before becoming a teacher, I completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, which has shaped the way I support learners today. It gave me a strong understanding of how children learn differently, including those with specific learning challenges. This means I take a personalised, strengths-based approach to my teaching, making sure each child feels understood, supported and capable of success.

I have also worked as teacher aide trainer and spent a short time homeschooling my own three children while we were living in Hawaii, both of which gave me valuable insight into the different ways children learn.

I am passionate about mathematics and love helping students build confidence and experience success in their learning.
